Finance
After known expenses, balance will be 5.7K, with £1120 of subs still outstanding.
Seven people have yet to pay their subs – of these we are pretty confident that at least six will pay.
Province
There was no news from Province.
We did discuss the letter sent to province from John Ross and Bill Gore. It was noted that no-one in Council had been consulted before the letter was sent, which was disappointing.
Council supported the key messages in the letter about increasing levels of visiting. We did note that whilst encouragement was important it was not possible, or desirable, to mandate levels of visiting. We also recognised the sterling work done by John Sutton to encourage visiting in our Circle.
Other notes
We noted that we need to ask someone to be the new Marketing Officer (with Felix now being VP).
We discussed Felix’s proposals for managing events next year and agreed that we needed to encourage a wider cadre of people to volunteer to lead on organising social events. More people volunteering means more events, fewer people – fewer events. There will be more of an emphasis on family events and Felix was hopeful that Alfonso will take an active role.
