Knutsford Catenians

The Catenian Association is a group of praticising Catholic laymen organised into ‘circles’. Knutsford Circle is based in central Cheshire and its area roughly covers Mobberley, High Legh, Goostrey, Holmes Chapel and, of course, Knutsford.

We are the 182nd Circle in the Association – which means that 181 other Circles were founded before we were in 1958. We are in Province 17 which covers approximately the old county of Cheshire.

We meet at least once a month for the free exchange of views and to help and encourage one another in our social and family lives. As well as supporting charitable causes, we provide a programme of social events for ourselves and our families. As part of a wider association, we are particularly concerned with the care of widows and children of deceased members, assistance  and career advice for members and their families, and other forms of benevolence to members in difficulty or need.

Sustaining our families and our community  through a full and varied social and spiritual programme is the essence of Catenian life.

Association members are expected to be committed to the practice of the Catholic faith, to fulfill the aims of the Association, to take part in Circle activities, and to meet a modest financial outlay.
